New research suggests that plastic surgery can make you look almost 10 years younger than you really are. The study by researchers at the University of Toronto used 60 different plastic-surgery patients who were judged before and after by a group of medical students. On average, the patients were estimated to be around 9 years younger than their actual age after surgical procedures.
According to the study, the most effective plastic surgery for looking younger is a combination of facelift, neck lift, eyelid lift, and forehead lift. Doing all four procedures gave the patients an average of over 8 years difference in age perception.
While more research needs to be done, the new study indicates that many patients can have realistic expectations of a more youthful appearance after plastic surgery. Of course, each case is different, and that is why it is important for you to talk to your plastic surgeon to determine what is right for you.
