Dr. Gary Williamson, MD, FACS, PC
Dr. Gary Williamson is a native of Athens, Georgia. Following graduation from Athens High School in 1965, he entered the University of Georgia, graduating in 1969. He then attended the Medical College of Georgia, receiving his M.D. in 1973. While a student at MCG, he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. While in medical school, he joined the U.S. Army. Upon graduation from MCG, he was transferred to William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas where he did a straight surgery internship followed by a general surgery residency from 1973 to 1978. He served as Chief of General Surgery at Lyster Army Hospital at Fort Rucker, Alabama. In 1978 he was board certified by the American Board of Surgery. In 1979 he returned to El Paso to do his residency in plastic surgery and was assigned to Dwight David Eisenhower Medical Center as Chief of Plastic Surgery in 1981. In 1982 he became a diplomat of the American Board of Plastic Surgery. In 1984 he entered private practice in Augusta, Georgia where he maintains privileges at University Hospital, Trinity Hospital and Doctors Hospital. He has been both Chief of Staff and Chief of Surgery at Trinity Hospital, formerly St Joseph Hospital. He is now in his 29th year of private practice.

Dr. Williamson is the proud parent of son Jeff and daughter Laura, and the proud grandparent of Olivia and Margot Packard.
